Worst money ever spent on a scam of a game! The expert level of this game is definitely rigged! After playing 100s of games, its evident that dice could not turn so much in favor of the computer while giving you the worst outcome. The game cheats its way to winning; very aggravating! Also, the expert level is not very good; it makes moves that are very risky and normally you wouldnt take unless youre sure of the outcome! Definitely rigged!!!

Get real. No cheating here. Move along. Nothing to see. If concerned, roll real dice for a while already. Excellent, mostly-intuitive user interface. Unobtrusive hints option. Very responsive support by email. NJ is my favorite iPhone BG app, and Ive tried a dozen of them. Only "XG Mobile Backgammon" has a stronger AI. Turn-based network play use of GameCenter is awkward. Sometimes wont see other-player moves until phone reboot. For PvP network games, chat could be much better. Can now only send message when is your turn, only see other player stats before match starts. A bit tricky moving to next-available game. Most online games allow chats and stats check any time. Author works hard to explain how you can test for cheating, yet none of the whiners take the time to try them. Just based on their superior skill and experience, it "feels" wrong. Yes, some rolls are surprising and seem to favor the machine. Others not so much, but that doesnt prove cheating.

This new update has a bug. It only awards one point when you get a backgammon. It scores its own backgammons correctly. Needs a fix. Overall, great game even though it cheats somehow on its rolls.

I am addicted to this game. I play for hours a day. And never tire of it. I tried slot of other backgammon games, and chose BGNJ HD.

Why is it, after a hard-fought game, literally 100% of the time when jimmy is backgammoned, I am given dice rolls that force me to leave a man open. Not just once - more like 3 or 4 times - even if I use hints. Eventually I am hit, then cant roll in - anybody else?

I love this app for playing on line or in person. Its my sense that the AI makes the game youre playing against it more difficult by giving itself the rolls it needs more often, while your own rolls are random. So, your learning against AI is limited - but as an app for playing other people - its great.

Excellent Backgammon game. I havent found another one for IOS that can match it.

Love the game, I play on expert and use the hint button to tutor me. What works best for me is to not actually hit the hint button and have it show me the right move, but to try different moves till it stops glowing. It would be awesome if it told me why some moves were superior but thats a lot to ask. Ive won 49% of the 3000 games Ive played and won 41% of the matches. Cuz my cube play is still a bit shoddy. For the people who say it cheats, youre just not very good at it. The sooner you can face that, the sooner youll improve. When I played against real people, I used to lose my cool when they got lucky to win. Playing backgammon nj has cured me of that. Having played such a large sample set, Ive seen the dice bail me out and Ive watched them murder me. Such is the game. Now taking bad beats against real ppl doesnt even sting, because thats what happens. Couldnt recommend this app more

The rolls are biased towards the computer. It is very frustrating.

If youre looking for a backgammon app, look no further. This is by FAR the greatest. Finally, someones made the app Ive been waiting for. Ive bought a number of backgammon apps over the years and Ive never seen one that comes close to this. Thanks for the beautiful, intuitive design, but thanks most of all for an app clearly made by people who know backgammon as well as programming. Im amazed by the functionality here!

An excellent backgammon game - highly professional, and only spoiled by too many doubles given to the computer.

Great game, improved my skill level

I do play this game more than any other game I have on my phone and love the on-line play! That said, the game does get remarkably more lucky the higher the skill level you set. It just happens to roll exactly the roll it needs at a given time. The game creators say that the game does not "cheat" based on the skill level but I call BS. Try it yourself and see.

Dont be fooled by people complaining about the AI cheating them—they just dont know how to play backgammon very well yet. If they used the app in earnest, they would learn.

Ive been playing this game for over 3 years now. It just got updated for the iPad Pro and I love it. Programming and design is a 10. Not sure why, but there are some haters on this game concerning "cheating." I always play on the highest level and win at a 50-50 ratio... If this game "cheats" then consider me the Jesus Christ of backgammon. To the creator(s): you should offer some new board designs and charge a buck for each one.

Its a well run app but I would have to join the commentary about the astounding number of lucky rolls by the AI. Trying my best to be objective, it does seem to defy the odds on a fairly regular basis. Lets put it this way -- I would be happy to take the AIs rolls any time over my own.

Tutor mode is good for improving my game (and I thought I was already pretty good). Excellent easy to use interface for entertaining opponent too.
