Really good and clean implementation
You would think that the author of this otherwise pretty good app would correct the silly flaw where the computer player always gets multiple doubles at the final stage of the game. Or perhaps he is amused by reading all the complaints about this?
Ive tried many BG apps... This one works great !!! Everything you need and nothing you dont
Playing the computer is no fun. You wont learn anything because the computer gets perfect rolls and gives you rolls that put you at a disadvantage. And if you get close to winning, the computer will start getting doubles and giving you ones. Playing online is ok but this app would be great if the rolls were more random. Im deleting this app.
This is not a neutral game, even at Easy level. The interface is nice, but it absolutely produces absurd advantages to the computer, very occasionally offering equally ridiculous wins for the player. Dice patterns repeat comically and predictably. Computer wins the opening roll 90% of the time. Computer gets exactly what it needs and you get the opposite. Computer always gets multiple doubles just as its bearing off. Forget about getting back on the board from the bar no matter how open, though the computer gets back in immediately no matter the odds. You have to consider this an abusive backgammon exerciser, and not a neutral game. And it really makes you hate Backgammon.
Great game play (although it seems almost too great sometimes)!! The UI is excellent. Best backgammon game out there. It is worth it; I have spent some serious time with this game - a great way to spend my commute!
Only redeeming quality of this Jokegammon HD NJ game is the Auto-Finish option so when the AI screws you, you can just get it over with faster.
I believe that the developers really think the roll of the die is random but I truly believe there is a major flaw. I dont care if the rolls are predetermined. The computers advantage is predictable and frustrating. The playability outside of the dice problem is excellent.
Why does every backgammon game feel the need to cheat? Just give me one backgammon game with honest rolls. Its all Im asking for. Why does this exist? After 26,000 rolls, the computer has better stats in every major category: avg per roll, frequency of doubles, getting out on 5 point board, etc.
